At Poppins & Partners, we have sensed a need in the Icelandic startup community for access to information and training on how to raise funds, whether with grants, angel funding, VC funding or crowdfunding.
To answer this need we decided to organise a conference and workshop day where entrepreneurs and others from the startup community can listen to seasoned fellow-entrepreneurs, investors, and experts on the topic in the morning and then roll up their sleeves and get to work on their pitches in the afternoon.
The conference, Fáðu fjármagn!, will be held at Hilton Reykjavik Nordica on October 4th 2018. The morning session (conference) will start at 8:45 and last until 12:00. The afternoon session (workshops) is an added bonus to conference attendees as we want people to take home more than inspiration and good advise . We hope that participants will use the momentum and inspiration from the morning session to start working on their pitches, crowdfunding campaigns, and/or grant applications. Please note that you must register for the correct ticket to secure your seat in the workshop of your choice.
Among speakers during the mornings session are Kolbrún Hrafnkelsdóttir, Founder & CEO at Florealis, Hekla Arnardóttir, Founding Partner at Crowberry Capital, Guðmundur Hafsteinsson, Product Management Director at Google Assistant, Angel Investor, and Chairman of a Committee on Iceland’s Innovation Policy, Ásdís Guðmundsdóttir, Expert at Atvinnumál kvenna, Ingi Rafn Sigurðsson, Founder & CEO at Karolina Fund, and Paula Gould, MarComms Expert.
In the afternoon, attendees will have the chance to choose between three workshops; Investor Pitching (led by Hanna Kristin at P&P), Preparing for Crowdfunding (lead by Karolina Fund), and Writing Grant Applications (led by Thorunn at P&P). These workshops are an added bonus for participants as they come at no extra cost.
